UK’s number one life coach, author and columnist, Carole Ann Rice is “definitely not just another life coach”, as her strapline says.

Journalist, columnist and founder of the very successful Pure Coaching Academy, she helps people find clarity, confidence and success in their daily lives.

How would you explain your business to someone who has no knowledge of it?

I change people’s lives by building confidence, gaining clarity and ridding limiting beliefs that stand in way of them and their potential.

Why did you choose it?

Because coaching is a developmental leap for humankind. I am wild about helping create the most incredible lives for themselves without fear or self-imposed limitations.

How did you get started?

I was a journalist who wrote for many of the nationals (The Sun, The Express, The Independent on Sunday, The Mirror, The Birmingham Post as well as She and Red magazines) and I independently devised and presented several network TV shows and documentaries in my time. But I always suffered “impostor syndrome” and somehow I was treading water until the weekend and wine oblivion rather than truly flourishing every day.

My life changed forever and for the better after hiring a coach and later training to become one. This turned out to be one of the most empowering personal and professional decisions I have made.

How long have you been in this business? And in other businesses?

18 years a coach and 30 years a journalist. Coaching academy for 7 years.
In the last 18 years, I have coached scores of people from the super-rich, scientists, lawyers and GP’s to supermodels, dancers, actors, writers, mums at home, CEO’s, startups, career professionals and people like you who want more for their lives. I would say in all my years of coaching there is not a problem or issue I have not heard or experienced and can provide a coaching solution for.

Can you describe your customers?

People who have achieved in life but have hit a wall in their business, career, relationships and have a calling or belief that they want more or feel they are holding themselves back. Those with a true belief that they deserve more out of life.

Why do your customers select you over your competitors?

My reputation, years of experience, unconventional approach, proven track record, my wit and originality.
I am the only life coach in the UK to have her own columnHappy Monday in the Daily Express – featured in a national daily newspaper.

Is there any business lesson you learnt through experience that you wish you knew about earlier in life?

Be patient. No such thing as an overnight success. Be humble. Network more and get used to being out of the comfort zone almost all the time!

Which things make you happy as a small business owner?

Freedom, choice, creativity, the joy of achievement, learning new skills, being my own boss, pride in reaching my potential, helping others, my own personal development, limitless possibilities.

carole ann rice motivational speakerWhere do you see your business in the next year? In the next five years?

Expanding my Pure Coaching Academy, a life coaching academy like no other. Developing my 1-2-1 coaching and having more opportunities as a motivational speaker for television, radio and events.

Which is your best-selling product or service and why do you think your clients love it so much?

The 1-to-1 coachings or being trained to be a life coach by me.
I believe there’s a coach out there for everyone. People who look for a coach who uses compassion as well as passion, who coaches with humour as well as humanity and believes you can get more out of life than you currently are, work extremely well with me.

Customer Retention: how do you keep your customers happy?

By going the extra mile. Intuitive, compassionate, passionate, precise and funny, I quickly get to the issue and create clarity, upscale dreams, remove rackets and excuses and get results with and for them.
For my clients, I am the Cheerleader and the Challenger.

Which challenges did and do you face, running your business?

Mastering social media, new tech, marketing.

How do you maintain a good work-life balance?

Yes – I walk my talk. As coaches, we have to walk our talk and develop as we coach.

Which is your best strategy for time management?

I am very disciplined and self-motivated. I have a vision for my life and everything I do is to the furtherance of that.
